Backup, Restore & Reset Defaults Windows 7 Firewall Settings


Have you ever tried to configure Windows Firewall, and maybe there is something that you do not want and do not know where the mistakes that ruined everything. Probably the last thing you want to do is restore Windows Firewall to default settings with Advanced Security.

Restoring Windows Firewall to default settings

If you want to reset the Windows firewall settings and rules to the default, you can do it like the following:

Type the Windows Firewall to start the search and open Windows Firewall with Advanced Security. In the tab bar, click on Action and select Restore Default Policy. If there is a notification that appears, click Yes.

Please remember, when you restore Windows Firewall to default settings, setting custome firewall rules and you've done will be lost. However, Group Policy settings applied rules & will not change.

Before performing the reset firewall to default settings, you can perform a backup firewall settings & firewall rules in the following ways:

In the tab bar, click on File and select Export Policy. Save the file as. Wfw property sheet.

That way you can perform a restore using the option Import Policy of Windows 7 or Vista firewall settings if you need it.
